Where ExaSpark is going: build apps that grow

Where ExaSpark is going: from building apps to running them, so one person can own product, growth and revenue, with AI working inside their limits.

ExaSpark's goal is to let anyone with an idea run a business of the AI era on their own, starting with one person. "Build apps that grow" is the short version. This is how we think about getting there, and what we will not trade away along the way.

What does "build apps that grow" mean?

That the app is how a business reaches its customers, not the business itself. A business has to find people, earn from them and get better over time.

An app that only needs to run can stop at working code. One that needs to grow also needs a launch, measurement, a way to reach more people, a price that works and a habit of learning from all of it. That is the scope we hold ourselves to.

What becomes scarce when building is cheap?

Attention, trust and judgment. Models will keep getting better at producing software, copy and video. They will not create more customer attention, make a new brand trusted overnight or decide which experiment deserves the budget.

That shapes where we invest. Better code generation matters, but every serious tool will have it. What builds up over time is the platform's memory of your business, meaning what was tried, what happened and why a decision was made, and a record of actions it has handled well within your limits. Memory makes its suggestions better. The record is what earns it more responsibility.

How does ExaSpark move from copilot to autopilot?

In stages, each of which has to earn the next.

  1. Copilot

ExaSpark prepares launch and growth work and you approve each step. This is where ads are today: the ad agent reports results and asks before it spends more.

  2. Shared context

Building, launch, growth and revenue share one record of what happened and what was decided, so recommendations account for history instead of starting from zero.

  3. Autonomy inside limits

Within the goals, budgets and approval rules you set, ExaSpark notices changes, proposes experiments and runs the low-risk ones itself.

We do not intend to skip a stage. A system that acts without history repeats its mistakes, and acting without approval is not something an owner should have to accept.

What could an AI one-person company look like?

An AI one-person company is a business where one person sets the goals, the limits and the final calls, and AI handles more of the operating work inside them.

Day to day, the owner stops doing every task and starts deciding what the business is for, what it will not do and which decisions need them. Building the first version, launching it, reading the results and setting up the next test happen more and more within those decisions. The owner's time goes to what cannot be handed off: taste, judgment, customer relationships and where the business goes next.

What will not change?

However much ExaSpark takes on, three principles hold:

  • You keep ownership of what you put in, as our Terms say, and your app's payments go to your own bank account.
  • Spending, pricing and app store releases are approved by a person.
  • Automated actions are recorded so they can be reviewed, and reversed wherever the action allows it.

These are the conditions under which handing work over makes sense, so we treat them as part of the product.

Where is ExaSpark heading?

Without putting dates on it:

  1. Near term

Turn working code into a business you can run, with launch, measurement, growth and monetization connected to the product.

  2. Medium term

A layer that lets one person own product, growth and monetization end to end.

  3. Long term

Anyone who wants to become a company can become one.

Where it starts today is in What is ExaSpark?, and How ExaSpark works walks through it step by step. To see the growth side for yourself:

Frequently asked questions

What is ExaSpark building next?
ExaSpark is extending from building apps to helping run them: launch, measurement, growth and monetization in one context, with AI doing more of the operating work inside limits a person sets.
Will ExaSpark run my business automatically?
Not without you. The direction is more autonomy inside goals, budgets and approval rules you set. Spending, pricing and app store releases stay with a person, and automated actions are recorded so they can be reviewed.
Who owns my accounts and data?
Under ExaSpark's Terms, you keep ownership of the content you submit, and payments from your app are paid out to your own bank account. That does not change as ExaSpark takes on more of the operating work.
What is an AI one-person company?
A business where one person sets the goals, limits and final decisions, while AI handles more of the operating work, such as building, launching, measuring and running experiments, inside the boundaries that person defines.

What will you build?
